The Birding Festival of the South
October 8, 2026 – October 10, 2026
Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, celebrates fall migration with its inaugural Birding Festival of the South. This three-day event was inspired by birders for birders with programming to include field trips, panels, workshops, film, music, and fun for all levels of birders.
Located in the Central Flyway, Hot Springs National Park supports a high diversity of bird species with its varied habitats of mountains to old-growth forests to creeks and thermal areas. The park features ancient thermal springs with historic bathhouses, 26 miles of hiking trails, Gulpha Gorge Campground, and bike trails. Great birding is also found at Lake Hamilton (7,200+ acres with 200 miles of shoreline) and the 210-acre Garvan Woodland Gardens.
