Presqu’ile Warblers and Whimbrels Weekend
May 16, 2026 – May 17, 2026
This weekend celebrates the spring migration of songbirds and shorebirds as they make their annual migration north. Presqu’ile Park’s position as a peninsula sticking out into Lake Ontario and its varied habitats make it a migration hotspot. Birds concentrate in numbers throughout the park, resting and feeding before migrating north. This gives birders a great opportunity to see and appreciate a wide range of bird species in a small area.
This weekend is aimed at those just starting out as birders or those who would like to learn more about the birds in the Park.
Naturalist-led bird walks take place at 6:30 am, 10 am, and 2 pm both days.
Join the Friends of Presqu’ile Park for a BBQ lunch fundraiser at the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre.
A full schedule of events will be posted on our website and Facebook pages closer to the event.
All events are free with park admission.
